Hey, everyone! Thought it would be helpful to have a post showing the myriad ways to earn rewards while playing Gwent. CD Projekt Red has created an extremely generous reward system, and my hope is that this post helps showcase just how much so.
-
Contracts: There are 436 contracts to be completed. Completing them all will yield ~713 reward points as well as numerous titles and avatars. Given that reward points were designed to have an approximate value of 50 ore each, 713 reward points is worth 35650 ore (356.5 kegs!)
-
Faction Trees: Each of these require 78 reward points to fill completely and yield 3400 ore (divided between raw ore and kegs) as well as three new leaders to play. This is not counting the scraps and meteorite you will collect while filling out the tree. Here, 1 reward point equates to 43.5 ore. There are currently five of these trees, and completing them all would require 400 reward points and provide 17000 ore worth of rewards.
-
Leader Trees: Each of these (truthfully, I only calculated one Leader's tree) require 92 reward points and yield 3700 ore (divided between raw ore and kegs) as well as a new leader skin. This is not counting the scraps and meteorite you will collect while filling out the tree. Here, 1 reward point equates to 40 ore. There are currently twenty of these trees, and completing them all would require 1800 reward points and provide 74000 ore worth of rewards.
-
Daily Round Wins: Every second round win (not match win) rewards any of; 15 ore, 15 meteorite powder, 15 scraps, or, more rarely, a card. Currently, the 6th, 18th, and 42nd round wins of the day provide increased rewards in the measure of 100, 75, and 50 ore, but this will soon change and instead provide some number of reward points.
-
Daily Quests: Reward 40-60 ore each. You will receive one per day and can hold onto as many as three.
-
GG: After every game, your opponent may send you a GG, which will net you any of: 5 ore, 5 meteorite powder, or 5 scraps.
-
Seasonal Ranking Rewards: At the end of every monthly Gwent season, you will earn anywhere between 5-25 reward points, dependent upon your rank.
-
Leveling Up: Rewards one reward point each. With 60 levels per prestige and 10 prestiges, you can earn 660 reward points by achieving the maximum level of the maximum prestige.
-
Prestige: These influence numerous reward systems within Gwent, as so:
-
Rank 1 - Guaranteed rare in the first four cards of a keg. This helps you fill out your collection more quickly and increases the scrap value of each keg you open, helping you craft Legendaries sooner.
-
Rank 2 - Allows you to reroll your daily quest twice.
-
Rank 3 - Increases GG rewards earned by 2 (eg. increased from 5 to 7 ore)
-
Rank 4 - You will now earn reward points in your daily rewards. Given the language used in the official CDPR post, I'm fairly certain this refers to daily round wins, but it may also affect daily quests.
-
Rank 5 - Guaranteed premium in first 4 cards. Increased scrap value per keg.
-
Rank 6 - Daily rewards (again, I believe this refers to daily round wins) now yield an additional 15-20 ore
-
Rank 7 - Daily rewards now yield an additional 15-20 scraps
-
Rank 8 - Daily rewards now yield an additional 15-20 meteorite powder
-
Rank 9 - Daily quests now yield 10 meteorite powder each
-
Rank 10 - When selecting the fifth card from your keg, there is guaranteed to be at least one premium card among them. Congratulations! Every keg you open now has at least two rares and two premiums!
-
In an evening of play, if you manage to complete your daily quest, earn 6 round wins, complete a contract, level up, and get a few GGs, you will likely have earned enough ore and reward points for 2-3 kegs. That's pretty damned generous! Thank you, CDPR!
If any finds these figures to be wrong, or if there's a means of earning rewards within Gwent that I've missed, let me know!
PS - I do find it odd that being max level with all contracts completed means you will have earned 1373 reward points, even though the reward book will require about 2400 reward points to fill completely (and that's without considering seasonal reward trees and whatever reward trees expansions may bring). The last 1000 points would require about 1 year of play to earn, assuming diligent completion of daily quests and round wins, as well as consistently achieving the highest tier of monthly ranked rewards. Well, slightly less time than that, since at that level you'd have been earning daily and seasonal reward points for some time. Still, reward points are in short supply - don't spend them flippantly!
